Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the US and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation at times. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at the age of nine. The ability to speak two languages has helped her get her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as a sports reporter. She moved in 2009 from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an investigative reporter for The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she worked as a reporter on five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. news in English and also an anchor for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate and she assumed more responsibility. She produced pieces about the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She worked as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked in the same capacity for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She also has an older sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime in which she was given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and that they had the major she was looking for. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to go to the university and major in Media Studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor at WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a part. The passion he had for journalism as well as confidence in her own abilities instilled confidence in her. She in turn attempted to live up to the standards he set and to not fail him.
